How Schools are Utilizing and Funding The A Game Curriculum and Certification

Student/Parent Funded - "We use the A Game curriculum and certification as a component of our career courses for every graduating student and have parents fund the individual student’s certification."

Most schools using Bring Your A Game to Work will purchase a classroom curriculum set for each teacher that will be instructing the program. This turn-key set comes with a classroom set of 40 books, a 130-page curriculum guide, Power Point presentation and 35-minute DVD. In each curriculum set, there is a template for building a curriculum that best fits the needs of the particular school. Most teachers utilize an 8-week program where A Game curriculum is taught one class period per week. Others choose to expand the curriculum to cover up to an entire 8-week unit. It’s flexible enough to do either, or anything in between!

NOTE: Since certification is an integral component to Bring Your A Game to Work and most schools don’t have the resources to fund each student completing the certification, a majority of teachers encourage parents to support their student financially in completing the certification. The A Game has developed a take home letter and flyer for educators to use in sharing the importance of the certification with parents.

School Funded "The A Game curriculum and certification is an integral piece of our career programming, so we allocate resources to fund certification for each student."

Schools that have the resources to provide the A Game curriculum may also choose to provide the A Game certification for each student at a discounted rate. When 100 or more certifications are purchased at a discounted rate, a list of unique certification codes is e-mailed to the instructor or program administrator who then provides each participant with a code to enroll in the certification process and complete the eLearning certification course at home or at school.

Employer-Sponsor Funded "Employers in our community help us fund A Game curriculum and certification, and in return, create a better pool of emerging talent from which to recruit."

Because the Bring Your A Game to Work training has proven to substantially improve employer satisfaction, educators have been very successful in partnering with local businesses to sponsor the A Game curriculum at their high schools and fund certification for students. These sponsoring companies benefit both by improving the work ethic in their communities, and becoming an ’employer of choice’ as a top-of-mind business to apply when A Game trained/certified students are looking for employment opportunities.

To assist you in securing sponsors for The A Game, here is a sample letter that you can use to share the value of the program with local businesses as well as a promotional flyer.
